Privacy Policy

AuctionHunter respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information our browser extension collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.

Information We Collect

The AuctionHunter extension is designed to work only on supported vehicle auction websites. When you open a supported auction lot page, the extension may read the current page URL and relevant page content, including vehicle and lot information such as lot number, registration number, VIN, auction details, and visible vehicle data.

The extension may send this information to AuctionHunter servers in order to identify the vehicle, match it with available records, and generate a vehicle report.

The extension also stores a randomly generated user identifier in the browser's local extension storage. This identifier is used to associate report requests with the same browser installation and to maintain the functionality of the extension. It does not directly identify you as a person.

Information We Do Not Collect

AuctionHunter does not collect passwords, payment card details, banking information, health information, personal communications, precise GPS location, or authentication credentials from users.

We do not monitor general browsing history. The extension only operates on supported auction websites defined in the extension permissions.

How We Use Information

The information collected by the extension is used only to:

  • detect supported auction lot pages;
  • identify vehicle and lot details;
  • request and display AuctionHunter vehicle reports;
  • maintain extension functionality and report state;
  • improve reliability and compatibility with supported auction websites.

Data Sharing

AuctionHunter does not sell user data to third parties.

Data may be processed by AuctionHunter systems and service providers where necessary to operate the report service, host infrastructure, maintain security, and provide extension functionality.

Data Storage and Security

AuctionHunter uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data processed by the extension. Locally stored extension data remains in the user's browser unless required for the functionality of the service.

User Control

Users can disable or remove the AuctionHunter extension at any time through their browser settings. Removing the extension also removes locally stored extension data from the browser.
